Royal Navy Burial Ground -Peter Morris, died 17 May 1808

Peter Morris died in 1808, and was a member of the ship’s Carpenter’s Crew. He was a member of the HMS Latona a 5th-Rate (Latona Class) Frigate built in 1781. This particular vessel served in the Royal Navy during the Revolutionary War. She was also spelled Letona.

There is nothing about this sailor listed online, and his grave is unmarked. There are 11 other members of this ship’s company registered as being interred in the RNBG during the year 1808 (what happened on this vessel??)

RIP Peter Morris.
