Royal Navy Burying Ground -Able Seaman John Hemmin, died 28 Mar 1802

From the RNBG database, Able Seaman John Hemmin, died on 28 Mar, 1802. A sailor from the HMS Andromache, the records only state that he was ‘received for interment’ at the RNBG at CFB Stadacona in Halifax (see other posts on this site).

A search of genealogical sites on the internet has revealed no data on this sailor.

The Andromache was a 5th-rate Amazon-Class (also known as Thetis-Class) Frigate, built in 1781.

More information on the Andromache can be found at this link. Interestingly, there were 24 interments from this vessel…

Is it possible that the name was actually ‘John Hemming‘?

RIP AS Hemmin. His grave is unmarked.
